The ONE bummer about my job.

Euthanasia.

On my first day, it was a 13 year old cat. Wednesday, a 14 year old black lab, and on Friday, a family of 4 came to say goodbye to Beauty, their 15 year old black lab/ beagle mix. Seeing other people cry is like a trigger, and my tear ducts runneth over and before I know it, I have tears streaming down to my chin. Why oh WHY must I be so compassionate? HA!
I get it. I really do. Beauty could hardly stand up, and her owner came out to the lobby afterwards and told his kids that "She was so tired, she fell asleep before they out the sleepy stuff in her." I silently left the desk and made a beeline for the nearest box of tissues. Having never lost a pet except a hermit crab, this is all very new to me. And since I am the Mommy to 3 cats and a dog, I make the HUGE mistake of thinking of my furry family when an older pet comes in the office. So not fun.

I thought I had thicker skin. I thought I could brush it all off, but my father in law was very right. I can cry at the drop of a hat, and have a shoulder shaking sobfest when a perfect stranger cries in front of me. I suppose I just hate knowing that other people are sad and hurt. Yeah, that sounds better than me being a wus.

So with all this sadness flying around my life right now, I wanted you all to know I met the teeeeeniest tiiiiiiiiiniest pupster on Tuesday. She weighed 10 ounces. Yes, look at your soda can...she weighed less than that! Her owner just put her on the corner of the clipboard while she filled out some new client paper work. See? The cute factor is much higher than the sad factor!

Now I am dehydrated. Tissues soak up a lot of water!

=( This is a sad post- I just read it again.
And what's also sad is no new posts... hint hint.

What's that? This is the pot calling the kettle black? Yes, you're right. But what's going on, Kettle??
